MY goals!

A few months ago, I was at my local library and I went to the health/fitness section, where I saw a book by (what was his name....oh yeah)  Tom Venuto--a good source of good information to say the least--and decided to give it a try. Just so you know, I HATE reading. I would do anything BUT read, and still it was a fast read and I loved it. (NOT trying to promote anyone or anything here). There was a lot of (useful) information in it, but for whatever reason, I couldn't apply it--I think it was the lack of support, etc. Long story short, I bring this up because the book has 5 sections and one of the main ones is about goal setting and it makes a lot of sense. So here's the deal: you should come up with goals like this...(I will use myself as an example)

10 years from now, I AM so fit and healthy, I can do everything that I want and my health has never been better. At the age of 30, I feel full of energy and I have no major health problems. I am confident and nothing can stop me :)

1 year from today, August 4th, 2011, I have reached my weight goal of 125 to 130 pounds and I maintain it there. I am exercising regularly and loving it too! My eating habits are perfect and they are no longer a 'rule' I follow or a plan on a paper, it's something that come naturally to me.

ON MY BIRTHDAY, four months from now, I am so happy with my consistency and hard work! I love fitting into my clothes. It's a slow process, but I'm gonna keep going. My birthday cake was healthy too! (and I didn't eat all of it). I am loving the new me at 21 years old =D

1 month from today, September 4th, 2010, I am still doing the INSANITY program. I haven't missed a single workout. I am pushing myself through the barriers and the tough days. I have improved on my eating. I don't eat after 8pm and I drink plenty of water too. I am taking my diet changes slow and steady and improving each day. I weigh less that 165.

A week from today, I have made it through one week of no late night eating. I have made healthy choices whenever possible. I have made one new healthy recipe this week. I have tried my best to get enough water in everyday.

Today, August 4th, I did my best to eat right and worked out too. I drank plenty of water and stopped eating after 8.

QUICK TIPS:
  • make these goals specific. picture yourself being there and right it down as if you have already done it!
  • make them for a decade, a year, and so on (I included my bday too, if u have a special date in there somewhere, be sure to make that a motivation for yourself)
  • know what it is that YOU have to work on (for me it's water and late night eating) and target that
  • make them realistic

ask me ANY questions you have. feedback on my goals would be nice and i want to read YOUR goals. make them specific to you and know what YOU need to work on. I will be sure to give you my input! (if you don't know what to eat or what exercise to do, don't make that stop you, first step is what your goals are...perhaps, the next entry will be on WHAT to do and where to start!)

GOOD LUCK!

ps. last time I tried this, I did it for two weeks and lost 5.5 pounds! I hope I will stick with it longer this time :)
